Marlboro Investigating Weekend Three-Car Crash On Route 9
Route 9 in the Marlboro area had to be closed for two hours Saturday afternoon, police said, due to an accident involving three cars.
MARLBORO, NJ — Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident on Route 9 Saturday afternoon that involved three vehicles - with three drivers sent to the hospital with injuries, causing the temporary closure of Route 9 in the area.
The accident took place on Route 9, just north of the Marlboro and Manalapan border, said Capt. Bryan O'Hare, Support Services Section commander.
Route 9 was temporarily closed for investigative purposes from about 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, he said.

One of the three vehicles involved is reported to have overturned, O'Hare said. The three vehicles were towed from the scene.
The three drivers were brought to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

The accident is being investigated by the Marlboro Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau, with Officer Brian Peterson as lead officer, he added. The investigation is ongoing and summonses may be issued, O'Hare said.
In nearby Manalapan, police advised motorists that Route 9 northbound was closed at the Gordon's Corner overpass as a result of the incident, causing heavy delays Saturday.
