What drove you to seek public office?
As a current Councilwoman, I am seeking re-election to continue the progress we have made these past 4 years.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
By way of our primary election victory, my running mates, Michael Milman and Nick Stella, and I have been chosen by our Republican constituents to represent them. Our opponents have been hand-picked by the Democratic mayor and have only been chosen by him — not the voters.
What are past accomplishments or experiences that make you qualified for this position?
Four years on the Marlboro Township Council and two years on the Marlboro Planning Board, along with my many career roles and responsibilities, have provided a lifetime of experience in dealing with a variety of issues, people — young and old — projects and issues. My experience with finances and budgets has informed my fiscal conservatism.
If elected, what will be your top priorities in your new role?
Maintaining Marlboro as a bucolic oasis for our residents is my priority. While concentration on low taxes, low debt and maintaining our AAA bond rating are my focus, I want to add services like safety and community activities. Also, working with the state and the county to reduce congestion will take a team effort. We are up to the challenge!
Name one thing about Marlboro that always makes you smile.
I love Marlboro. It is impossible to choose only one thing that makes me smile. Our strength is her people — her residents and her employees! Our public works department, our recreation department, our police department and dispatchers, our fire and EMS volunteers, our engineering, our IT department, and, especially, our finance department!
