Aberdeen Man Arrested for Alleged Heroin and Gun Possession

Police say he had over 140 individual bags of heroin and a gun

An Aberdeen man was arrested Feb. 20 for allegedly being in possession of two guns, being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, intending to distribute the substance and for doing so within 1,000 feet of Matawan Regional High School.

Police say that Dana Jackson, 40, was in possession of 143 wax fold envelopes filled with a white substance believed to be heroin, a Bersa 380 Thunder handgun and an allegedly stolen .40 caliber handgun loaded with five .40 caliber bullets and one .40 caliber hollow point round, according to charges filed against Jackson by the State of New Jersey. Jackson was arrested at his apartment in , located on South Atlantic Avenue. The charges indicate that the 143 wax fold envelopes accounted for approximately 7.15 grams of heroin.

Jackson is charged with third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), third degree possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, third degree possession of a CDS with intent to distribute 1,000 feet of a school, two counts of second degree possession of a controlled dangerous weapon, second degree possession of a of a controlled dangerous weapon while being a person not allowed to possess a weapon, third degree possession of a controlled dangerous weapon loaded with five ball point .40 caliber rounds and one hollow point .40 caliber round, third degree possession of stolen property.

Bail was set at $50,000.
