MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Residents can be a part of Mendham Township history, with two festivals planned this year to celebrate a major milestone.
The township was founded in 1749, making this year its 275th anniversary as a town. Morris County was originally formed in 1738.
The Mendham Township Historic Preservation Committee is inviting people to celebrate the 275th anniversary on June 8 at Brookside Community Club, and on October 26 at Ralston Cider Mill.

According to the Historic Preservation Committee, Mendham Township originally had much larger boundaries — including what we now know as Mendham Borough, Randolph, and parts of Chester Township, Dover, and Wharton.
The event on June 8 will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature demonstrations, music, food, a scavenger hunt, a time capsule contest, and more. All festivities will be free of charge.
