Annual Classic Car Show Rolls Into Chester This Spring

CHESTER, NJ — Get ready to take a stroll down memory lane this spring as Chester will be bursting with classic cars and trucks along Historic Downtown Main Street in celebration of the 22nd annual "Classic Car Show."

Ford Model Ts, 1957 Chevrolets, Mustangs, Corvettes and other vintage automobiles are preparing to roll into town on May 20 along Main Street and Perry Streets.

The event, which takes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free to the public and features the finest classics, customs, muscle, special interest, antiques, pro streetcars and more.

Admission is free to the public with a registration fee of $10 per vehicle, with a portion of all registration proceeds benefitting the Cancer Hope Network, a Chester-based non-profit and volunteer organization that offers one-on-one support for adults battling cancer.

Registration for drivers is planned between 8 and 10 a.m., with the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with D.J. “Doc South” providing musical entertainment throughout the event. There will also be the Chester Spin-to-Win Wheel, offering fun prizes for attendees.

Trophies will be awarded for the "Best Engine," "Best Truck," "Best Paint," "Best in Show," and "Top 5 Winner" categories at 4 p.m. on Perry Street. To receive a trophy, car owners and their vehicles must still be present at the show.

After the car show, stroll down Chester's brick-paved sidewalks, which are lined with over 80 specialty stores selling antiques, crafts, clothing, jewelry, home furnishings, pet supplies, confections and restaurants.
