'Aggressive' Bear Killed Goat, Fled Into Morris County Woods: Cops
Authorities issued an alert around 8 a.m. Tuesday in Chester Twp. and searched the surrounding area for hours.

Local police and New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife spent much of Tuesday morning trying to track down an aggressive bear in Chester Township after it attacked a goat, police said.
Chester Township Police responded to an area of Cliffwood Road for a report of a bear attacking a goat, Lt. Edward Noonan said. When officers arrived they observed the bear had attacked the goat in the rear of the property where a portion of the electric fence was not working, Noonan said.
The bear fled into the woods of Tiger Brook Park, where authorities lost sight of it, Noonan said. A search of the area was conducted but did not find the bear and the investigation was turned over to the Division of Fish and Wildlife.
