CHESTER BOROUGH, NJ — The deadline to file for candidacy for the school board election has passed, and a contested race to the Chester Borough Board of Ed. is underway.
Four candidates are vying for three spots on the board of education.
Three incumbent candidates are seeking re-election, with one newcomer looking for a spot on the board.

The three incumbent candidates are Adam Colicchio, Adam Sorchini, and Melissa Mauro-Duffy. The three candidates are each seeking a three-term, all running under separate slogans.
Also seeking a three-year term is newcomer Tracy Ali, who is not running under a slogan, according to the Morris County Clerk’s Office.

Here are the candidates for the Chester Borough Board of Ed. and their slogans:
Three-year terms, vote for three
- Adam Colicchio (Education, Leadership, Incumbent)
- Adam Sorchini (Re-Elect Education Focus)
- Melissa Mauro-Duffy (Children, Education, Incumbent)
- Tracy Ali
Also, running uncontested for the Chester Township BOE, representing West Morris Regional School District, is incumbent Peter J. Pappas.
More information on the candidates will be made available as the election nears.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
