Chester Sewer System Expanding—Inspection Underway
The Borough of Chester is in the initial stages of planning the extension of the existing sewer system.
CHESTER, NJ - The Borough of Chester is in the initial stages of planning the extension of the existing sewer system.
As part of this project, the dry underground lines that run under the street will need to be inspected. According to officials, the lines were put in many years ago but have not been used.
In order to assess their condition, the Borough has hired Vortex, a closed camera television provider, to do these underground, internal inspections.

While the roads will not be closed, residents should be aware that these providers will be working in the area.
The project began Monday, and the estimate from the contractor is five days to complete the inspections of the lines.
