Donation Drive To Combat Diaper Supply Issues Hosted By Mendham Rotary

The Mendham Rotary is holding a diaper drive to assist families who struggle to afford items such as diapers and wipes.

MENDHAM, NJ — The Mendham Rotary has partnered with the nonprofit Jersey Cares to collect diapers for families in need this October.

Diapers of any size, in unopened packets, can be dropped off at the Coldwell Banker office at 106A East Main St., Mendham Borough, until noon on Saturday.

“We decided to launch a Diaper Drive, on the heels of our very successful School Supplies Collection in August, which packed my SUV with donations,” said Rotary President Amalia Duarte, who also serves on the Mendham Township Committee. “Our community is so generous; we are hoping to once again fill my car with contributions!”

The Jersey Cares Diaper Drive began during COVID-19 in response to the supply-demand gap for numerous vital products, such as diapers. Following that, Jersey Cares recognized the continued need for diapers and launched the Diaper Drive as a permanent addition to their ongoing humanitarian collections.

"Many families struggle to provide the basic necessity of diapers for their children, and most public aid does not cover the cost. The Rotary Club is grateful for the community’s support in this charitable endeavor," officials said.
