Election Guide: Where To Vote, Who's On The Ballot In Mendham Borough, Twp.

Local, county, state, and national races on this year's ballot.

MENDHAM, N.J. – As usual, it’s a very red June Primary Election in Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, with Republican races being held at the congressional, county, and local levels.

Oh, and let’s not forget about the Presidential race, either.

Locally, Republicans Christine Serrano Glassner and David Sharkey are running for two seats on the Mendham Borough council. In Mendham Township, incumbent Republican committeeman Samuel Tolley is being challenged by Richard Diegnan and Warren Gisser. Democrat Peter Dumovic is also on the ballot.

The June Primary Election is set for Tuesday, June 7. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. See voting locations below.

At the county level there are two major races. The first is for Sheriff, with James Gannon and John Sierchio running as Republicans, while Mark Dombrowski is the sole Democrat on the ballot. This is the first ballot current sheriff Ed Rochford will not be on in more than 20 years.

The Morris freeholder race is filled to the brim, with 12 candidates running: seven Republicans (three incumbents) and five Democrats.

They are:

  • Doug Cabana (R, incumbent)
  • Kathy DeFillippo (R, incumbent)
  • Roman Hirniak (R)
  • Peter King (R)
  • John Krickus (R)
  • Tom Mastrangelo (R, incumbent)
  • Louis Valori (R)
  • Charles Bogusat (D)
  • Rozella Clyde (D)
  • Carl Fenske (D)
  • Mitchell Horn (D)
  • John Von Achen (D)

At the congressional level, Leonard Lance is being opposed on the Republican ticket by David Larsen and Craig Heard in the seventh district. Democrat Peter Jacob is also on the ballot.

In the 11th congressional district, Rodney Frelinghuysen is being opposed by Republicans Rick Van Glahn and Lee Ann Brogowski. Democrats Richard McFarlane and Joseph Wenzel are also on the ballot.

Of course, don’t forget about the Presidential Primary Election. The Republican race has been sewn up, as Donald Trump received enough delegates to be named the party’s nominee. On the Democratic side, however, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are both on the ballot seeking New Jersey’s vote.
