Final Ballots Counted, Mendham Twp. GOP Nominee Announced
Second Republican nominee has one more vote than challenger to secure November Election ballot spot.

MENDHAM TWP., N.J. - Eight days after residents hit the polls to pick two Republican candidates for Mendham Township Committee, the final results are in.
After a 495 to 495 tie between incumbent Samuel Tolley and Warren Gisser based on poll votes, Gisser took a lead of 506 to 504 after mail-in ballots were counted. It then took more than a week to certify and count three provisional ballots.
Gisser received no more votes and remained at 506, total, while Tolley received one more vote to end at 505. Top vote-getter Richard Diegnan, who ended Election Day with the clear lead at 640 votes, received three more provisional votes on top of the 10 mail-in votes for a total of 653.

Tolley's term ends Dec. 31 of this year. Gisser and Diegnan will be on the November General Election ballot, facing off against Democrat Peter Dumovic, who received more than 280 votes in the Primary Election.
