Former Chester Teacher, Lifelong Town Resident Dies At 70

Nancy Leiberwirth was a devoted member to the Community Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing and baking for her family.

CHESTER, N.J. – Nancy Lieberwirth spent a lifetime teaching others and helping those around her.

The lifelong Chester resident died recently at the age of 70.

Lieberwirth was born in Morristown in 1946 in Morristown and graduated West Morris High School before receiving a bachelor’s degree of Science and Education from Newark State College.

She worked as a special education teacher in Randolph and Chester for 20 years before retiring in 2006.

Leiberwirth was a devoted member Community Presbyterian Church in Chester and taught church school as well as served as a Girls Scout troop leader and cookie drive coordinator.

Most of all, her greatest joy was her family, caring for children with her sewing and baking, and enjoying family vacations in Long Beach Island.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ronald; four daughters; six grandchildren; and many extended family members.

A celebration of Nancy’s Life will include visitation on Thursday, June 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with a funeral service on Friday, June 17 at 10 a.m. All arrangements will be held at William Leber Funeral Home on Furnace Road in Chester.
