'Light Up The Night' With Great Pumpkin Carve-Out In Chester

The contest is open to Chester students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It will take place from Oct. 28 through Halloween.

CHESTER, N.J.– Chester students in kindergarten through eight grade are encouraged to participate in the upcoming "Great Pumpkin Carve-Out" at Gazebo Park from Oct. 28 through Halloween.

"Bring your already carved pumpkin to the Gazebo on Main Street to illuminate the town at night," organizers said.

The owners of the top three "Best Pumpkins" will be awarded $50 for first place, and $25 for second and third place, organizers said.

Voting will be conducted on Facebook and by ballot, according to organizers.

A $75 prize will be given to the winner of a new contest: guessing the weight of the big pumpkin at Gazebo Park.

Guesses will be written and placed in a ballot box. The closest guess without going over wins, organizers said.
