Vehicle being processed for evidence in Morris County, police report.

Nearly two weeks after a luxury sport utility vehicle was swiped from a Mendham Township home’s driveway, police have recovered it in Newark.

The Mendham Township Police Department with assistance from the Newark Police Department Auto Theft Squad and New Jersey State Police recovered the vehicle Tuesday, Nov. 10 after a number of “hits” surfaces on the vehicle’s license plates, Lt. Ross Johnson said.

The vehicle was then located and impounded with fraudulent temporary tags. Police then transferred the vehicle back to Morris County where it is being processed for any evidence and will be returned to the owner, Johnson said.
