Make A Splash For Pride At Annual Brookside Beach Event In Mendham
A beach barbecue, arts and crafts, music, resources, and more are on deck for Mendham Township's 4th annual LGBTQ Pride Event. More details:
MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Mendham Township will celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month next week with an evening of swimming, grilling out, ice cream, and other fun on the beach.
The township Recreation Department and Mendham's Stigma Free Task Force are inviting the community to join them at Brookside Beach for a barbecue on June 18. They will provide hot dogs and supplies for people to cook their own food at a charcoal grill.
The Pride event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will also feature arts and crafts activities, tattoos and face painting, community resources for the LGBTQ community, and music and dancing on the beach. Brookside Beach is located at 2 West Main Street, Brookside NJ.

This is the fourth year that the township has held an event for Pride Month, which is held annually in June.
Brookside Beach also opened for the season on June 8, and is open daily through Aug. 18. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Mondays and Wednesdays when the beach is open until 7:30 p.m.

Day passes and memberships are available; non-residents may also purchase a membership at a higher rate. Picture ID cards will be created for all members this year, and be brought to the beach each visit.
Brookside Beach also features snacks, drinks, and ice cream on-site; bathrooms; water circulators for better flow; and swim lessons, which are for members only.
Weekly visits by the "geese chasers" are set to continue, per the township website.
