My decision to seek political office stems from my background and intended career in journalism. After earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and completing several internships, I realized I wanted to do more than just report on issues — I wanted to actively be part of the solution. This realization deepened as I began volunteering and working on political campaigns, where I saw firsthand the importance of electing leaders who genuinely care about their community and prioritize service over self-interest.

Additionally, after moving back to Mendham to help grow my family’s small business, I started hearing the concerns, ideas, and challenges of people in town. Over time, I felt a growing responsibility to be a voice for those who felt unheard or unrepresented. Rather than stay on the sidelines, I decided to run for council with the goal of offering fresh ideas and unique solutions to the issues facing our community.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

What sets me apart from other candidates is the broad range of experiences I’ve had growing up right here in Mendham. I’ve attended all three of our public schools, worked at several local small businesses, volunteered with the Mendham Fire Department, and now play an active role in building my family’s local business, where most of our clients are fellow Mendham residents. These experiences have given me unique perspectives on the town and its people, and I believe they would be very beneficial in making decisions on local issues.

Additionally, although some may question my youth, I see it as an advantage—a chance to bring fresh ideas and a new generation to the table. As someone who has always called Mendham home, my commitment to the town is long-term. I plan to raise my family here, and I’m excited to bring fresh ideas and new energy to the council while staying true to the traditions and values that define Mendham. My goal is to help guide our town into the future, ensuring it remains the place we all love and are proud to call home.

What do you see as the biggest issue facing Mendham Borough?

The most pressing issue facing Mendham Borough is the impact of the new affordable housing legislation signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy and championed by Trenton Democrats. After speaking with many voters, it’s clear this legislation has significant consequences for rural towns like Mendham. I’ve also been surprised by the amount of misinformation surrounding it.

While affordable housing can benefit communities, this law, as written, has unfortunately opened the door for developers to push high-density developments right onto our doorsteps. This threatens the unique character of our town that has kept families here for generations. As a third-generation resident, I’m deeply concerned that this is just the beginning of changes that could permanently alter our community.

It’s crucial to research the candidates you’re voting for, especially as this is a partisan issue sponsored by Trenton Democrats, with local Democrats in towns like Mendham simultaneously opposing the legislation.

How do you keep the small-town feel of Mendham Borough amidst the modern pressures of growth and development?

To keep the small-town feel of Mendham Boro amid modern pressures of growth and development, we must remain committed to preserving our traditions, values, and sense of community. This begins with ensuring that any new development or changes align with our town’s unique character and history. We also need to prioritize projects that enhance the quality of life for residents while protecting the charm that makes Mendham special.

More specifically, we need to continue encouraging involvement through local events, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities that bring residents together. These shared experiences not only strengthen the bonds within our community but also ensure that Mendham remains a place where people genuinely care for one another. By nurturing this culture of support and engagement, we can safeguard the values that define Mendham, even as we plan for the future.

What is your favorite part of living in Mendham?

What I love most about living in Mendham is the deep sense of community that runs through every part of the town. It’s not just the place — it’s the people. Mendham is a town where your neighbors feel like family, and those who work here — teachers, first responders, local business owners — aren’t just doing a job; they’re becoming part of your life in ways that matter far beyond their professions.
