Mendham Borough Mayor Writes Last Mayor's Update
Mayor Neil Henry is retiring after 18 years as mayor.

MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ — After 18 years as Mendham Borough mayor, Neil Henry is retiring, writing one last Mayor's Update before his successor takes office.
This final monthly update is Henry's 150th for the borough. The updates covered various town happenings, from zoning issues, upcoming town events, and more.
The Dec. 2018 letter, his final, continued in that same vein. It provided residents with an update on a variance sought by the owners of the Black Horse Tavern and Pub, who want to remove parts of the property. Although the application was approved by the Historic Preservation Commission, the color of the building and the roofing materials remain sticking points.

Henry also congratulated his successor, Christine Serrano-Glassner, a fellow Republican, who will take office in Jan. 1, 2019, and incoming council members Steve Andrew and Brennan Reilly. Henry bid farewell to retiring administrative assistant Penny Andrus, who spent 25 years working with various Borough departments.
And with that, it was time for the goodbyes.

"Well that’s a wrap, folks. I look forward to spending more evenings at home relaxing with family as well as shopping in Kings, dining at the Pub and walking through our neighborhoods as a private citizen and allowing a new Mayor to pick up where I left off," Henry wrote, signing off, "Thank you all for your support over the years."
