Missing NJ Mom, 2 Young Sons Found Safe: Prosecutor
Mother Cheng Hsaio and her two sons were found and do not plan to return to their home. They are "being assisted by state authorities."
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A missing Montville Township mother and her two young children were safely found after an extensive multi-state search — yet they will not be returning home, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
Cheng Hsiao, 39, and her two children, Ethan, 3, and Ian, 2, were first reported missing on Sunday from their home on Old Lane in Towaco.
The prosecutor's office did not disclose when and where they were found.

“Through the extensive cooperative efforts of the Montville Township Police Department, New York City Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies working with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Missing Persons Unit, the three missing members of the Hsiao family have been found safe and unharmed,” Morris Prosecutor Robert Carroll stated in a news release. “Their location will remain undisclosed.”
Cheng Hsiao's husband Kanhan Hsiao was told that his wife and children were found and are safe, said Carroll.

However, Cheng Hsaio and the children, do not plan to return to their home and are “being assisted by state authorities,” Carroll added.
No charges have been filed in the case, said Carroll.
“Due to the sensitive nature of this case and an ongoing investigation, no further information will be made available,” he also said.
