Sick Fox Possible Seen In Mendham Township
Residents walking or letting pets out in the area should be cautious.

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — A possibly sick fox was seen in Mendham Township Sunday afternoon, police said.
The fox was seen in the area of Tingley Road around 5 p.m. on Sunday. It was not clear if the fox was sick or not, but police urged people letting their pets out or walking in the area to be cautious.
Foxes are native to New Jersey, and tend to not cause issues unless they are rabid. Healthy foxes "pose virtually no danger to humans," according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Symptoms of a sick fox can include unprovoked aggression, impaired movement, paralysis or lack of coordination, unusually friendly behavior or disorientation.
