Teacher’s Aides Needed At Mendham Township Schools

The Mendham Township School District has​ put out a call for teacher's aides to help with the 2023-2024 school year.

MENDHAM, NJ — Mendham Township school officials have issued a plea for additional teacher's aides as the district opens positions to expand support faculty at the elementary and middle school.

The Mendham Township School District recently stated that it is looking for educational professionals to work as part-time instructional assistants.

All applicants must have a teacher certification or substitute certification, the office of the superintendent said.

Several school districts around Morris County and nationwide have been grappling with teacher shortages, with roughly 300,000 educators leaving their jobs between February 2020 and May 2022, according to August 2022 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reported by the Wall Street Journal.

In New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy launched a task force to find solutions to this problem. The group released its report earlier this year.

Recommendations include funding and supporting early career mentoring, creating leader-to-educator and peer-to-peer support systems; supporting work-life balance; improving work conditions and more. You can find the whole report here.

Anyone looking to apply for one of the district's available positions is asked to complete the online application. The district announced that they have gone paperless and are no longer accepting resumes via mail, fax or e-mail.
