Shred Tech And Papers Safely On Saturday In Mendham Borough

Mendham Borough residents can safely shred documents and tech this Saturday by dropping them off at the Borough's public works building.

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Bring in old tech items and sensitive paper document for shredding in Mendham Borough, as an extra step to protect yourself from identity theft, Mendham Borough officials said.

Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. residents of Chatham Borough may bring paper and technology items to the Mendham Borough public works building at 37 Ironia Road.

Paper items that can be brought in for shredding on March 26 are bank statements, medical or insurance forms, tax forms, or other personal file items with private information. Staples and clips do not need to be removed, the Borough's notice said.

Shredded paper will be recycled as the Borough's public works department partners with New Jersey Clean Communities and Tech Shredders.

Tech Shredders will "securely destroy" old hard drives and electronic media, the notice explained. Items that can be brought in include desktop computers, laptops, monitors, CDs and floppy disks, cell phones, tablets, and USB drives.

The Borough's notice said, "Fight back against identity theft ... Shred!"
