The checkpoints are run by the Monmouth County DWI Task Force, which is currently led by Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider. A different Monmouth County police chief is selected to oversee the DWI Task Force every year.
"The Task Force hopes all motorists will be responsible, especially this holiday weekend, when typically DWI arrests are more common due to the celebratory nature of the weekend," said Chief Schneider.
