MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Four of Middletown’s youngest residents were recently honored for their charitable fundraising efforts on behalf of their local fire company, township officials said.

Residents JoJo, Carina and Nico Fallacaro were honored by Middletown Township Mayor Perry and the Lincroft Fire Company during a Thursday celebration honoring the lemonade stand fundraiser the family hosted last summer, which raised $250 for the all-volunteer Lincroft Fire Company.

The fundraiser began as a school assignment in June 2022, township officials said. Given the prompt of “what can you do, or contribute to help your community,” JoJo, Carina and Nico decided to help the local fire company by organizing, advertising, and running a lemonade stand.

The lemonade stand opened on July 31, 2022 and, in just a few hours, the Fallacaro family completely ran out of product. Donations from their customers ranged from $1 to $20.

While JoJo, Carina and Nico ran the operation, their little brother Rocco helped his brothers and sister in sales by being a cute supporting baby, township officials added.

The kids’ parents, Sandy and Richie Fallacaro, generously matched the lemonade stands’ profits to benefit the firehouse. The family presented their donation at Lincroft Fire Company’s Open House in October.

“The Lincroft Fire Company greatly appreciates the entire Fallacaro family’s time, effort and generous donation,” Lincroft fire officials said.
