Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing Middletown Girl, 13

The 55-year-old man, from Mount Laurel, was arrested and charged on Monday with aggravated criminal sexual contact, among other charges.

A Mount Laurel man was arrested on Monday, October 13, for allegedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl from Middletown last week, according to court documents.

Richard Buonanno, 55, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact, third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, third degree.

According to the Star Ledger, police said the victim was “familiar” with Buonanno, but there was no further comment or information on the relationship between the two.

Buonanno was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold in lieu of $100,000 bail, with no 10% option, as set by Judge Anthony Mellaci, according to court records.

An arrest is not a conviction, and every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
