MIDDLETOWN, NJ- Winter Storm Jonas brought between two to three feet of snow to New Jersey causing approximately 90,000 power outages and coastal flooding in the southern part of the state.
As of Monday, the State of Emergency has been lifted, power has been restored to most of N.J. and bridges and tunnels to New York City have been reopened.
Still, hundreds of New Jersey school districts announced closures and motorists are warned to continue driving with extra caution.

We asked Patch readers if they were happy with the plowing done on their block. Here’s what you said:
- “Absolutely not! The sub-contractors that Middletown piled a four-foot-high mound of snow at the bottom of my driveway.“
- “Would be nice if they went to the curb, instead of just down the middle.“
- “Think they did the best job in the 14 years [I’ve been] here. With the possibility of flooding, we had crews here after every high tide. Not only did they plow, they [also] picked up and moved it off the street.“
- “Absolutely. New Monmouth section is great!“
- “Not an easy task, but I think given the amount of snow they’ve done a good job so far. Just hope they do a few more go rounds now that everyone is digging out.”
