New McMahon Park Playground Equipment Approved By Middletown Officials
The playground was designed in mind to be a "fully inclusive for children with disabilities," Mayor Tony Perry said.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Planned upgrades to Middletown’s McMahon Park approved by the township committee this week aim to ensure that all children regardless of ability can play among each other and enjoy the park, township officials said.
The resolution permitting the purchase of new playground equipment for an inclusive McMahon Park playground was passed during a Monday township committee meeting, Mayor Tony Perry announced via social media.
The resolution, which you can read here, calls for a contract for playground equipment, site furnishings, outdoor circuit training equipment and related materials from Spring Lake-based Marturano Recreation, Inc. for $338,950.24.

The new playground will “not only will this improvement begin the revitalization of the park, but the playground will be fully inclusive for children with disabilities,” Perry said in a statement on Tuesday.
It's not immediately clear when construction is set to begin on the current playground, or how long the project will take to complete.
