MIDDLETOWN, NJ — As we are all preparing to embark on the start of another new school year, here is everything the Middletown Public Library has planned this September.

September is also Library Card Sign-Up Month: Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Middletown is eligible for a free Middletown Township Public Library card. More information about signing up for an MTPL card can be found on their website: www.mtpl.org/get-a-library-card/

Preschool Storytime – Wednesdays at 10 a.m.: Preschool storytime is back with weekly stories, songs and more for toddlers and preschoolers. Registration is required at mtpl.org.

Cards for a Cause – September 4 from 3 – 6 p.m.: Teens ages 12-18 are invited to drop in and make greeting cards for local seniors. Volunteer hours will be offered for each card. Limit of 5 cards.

Teen Writing Group – September 11 at 4 p.m.: Choose from several different creative writing prompts and write a short story. Register at mtpl.org.

Read to a Dog – September 12 at 4 p.m. & September 16 at 6 p.m.: Read to a therapy dog to improve reading and literacy skills. For Grades K-5. Register for 15-minute sessions at mtpl.org.

Intro to Zines Workshop for Teens – September 19 at 4 p.m.: Share your creativity and learn how to make your own zines with Rutgers Art Librarian Megan Lotts. Registration required at mtpl.org.

Cornucopia PopDown Card Craft – September 23 and 30 at 3 p.m.: For ages 5 and up. Join artist David Udovic and his wife Susan as they lead this fall-themed Cornucopia PopDown craft. Two chances to attend. Registration is required at mtpl.org as space is limited.

Life After Graduation Career Exploration Workshop for Teens – September 25 at 7 p.m.: Explore career options and learn about setting short- and long-term goals with life coach Stefanie Garguilo. Register at mtpl.org
