Stavola About To Be Sold For $1.2 Billion In All-Cash Deal
Stavola, Monmouth County's road paving/recycling giant, is about to be sold to a Texas-based firm for $1.2 billion, in an all-cash deal:
TINTON FALLS, NJ — Stavola, the road paving/recycling giant in Monmouth County, is about to be sold to a Texas-based firm for $1.2 billion, in an all-cash deal.
Stavola is a well-known recycling and raw materials company headquartered in Tinton Falls, and owned by the Stavola family. The state of New Jersey hires Stavola to do road paving work in Monmouth County, and Stavola also contracts with many Monmouth County towns to pick up and process their recycling.
Stavola just signed a deal to be purchased for $1.2 billion by Arcosa, Inc., located in Dallas. Arcosa (traded on the NSYE as ACA) provides infrastructure-related products in construction/transportation.

News of the deal was first reported Monday by ROI-NJ and NJ Biz. But Stavola confirmed the news in an announcement on their website Monday:
"After 75 years of dedicated service and leadership in the New Jersey construction industry, Stavola Aggregates, Asphalt, Recycling and Contracting proudly announces the sale of its family business to Arcosa, Inc. The acquisition marks a significant transition in a local family company that has long enjoyed a market leading position in New Jersey," the family-owned business said on their website.

Stavola said: "As part of the transition, all existing employees of Stavola will be retained, ensuring that the expertise and personalized service long associated with the Stavola family will remain intact."
“After much consideration by the Stavola families, it was decided that now is the right time to pass the business on to a company who shares our values and commitment to our employees and customers. We are excited for the future of the company as it continues to grow and remain a market leader," said company president Joseph C. Stavola III.

Stavola owns five hard rock quarries, twelve asphalt plants, including two in Tinton Falls and Old Bridge, and three recycling collection sites.
