All candidates have been invited by the League of Women Voters to participate. It will be a virtual forum held over Zoom. You must register.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — There will be a forum for this year's Middletown school board race.

The forum will be held by the League of Women Voters, which held a similar forum last October for that year's Middletown school board race. It will be held at 7 p.m. Oct 7, and it will be a virtual forum held over Zoom.

All candidates running this year are confirmed to attend, a member of the League of Women Voters told Patch.

Here is who is running for Middletown school board this year (as listed by the Monmouth County clerk):

  • Mark Soporowski - Common Sense Education
  • Joan Minnuies - current Board member, seeks re-election
  • Deborah Wright - current Board member, seeks re-election
  • Katherine “Kate” Farley - Today's Children First - current Board member, seeks re-election
  • Sara Weinstein - Today's Children First

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization. A trained League moderator who does not live in Middletown will be the moderator.
