Tinton Falls Fire Involving ‘Flammable’ Liquids Extinguished

TINTON FALLS, NJ - Fire crews from multiple Monmouth County fire departments worked for two hours to extinguish a garage fire that threatened a primary residence in Tinton Falls Friday night, officials said (see photos from the scene below):

The blaze, which occurred on South Wayside Road, was reported at around 10:40 p.m., the Wanamassa Fire Company said in a statement.

At the scene, crews from Wanamassa, the Wayside Fire Company and other mutual aid units helped with operations and overhaul, eventually containing the fire to the original fire building with multiple hand lines, officials said.

“After an extensive overhaul due to the original fire load and unknown flammable liquids involved, the fire was ultimately marked under control by initial companies,” the Wayside Fire Company said in a statement.

The Tinton Falls Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation in regards to the cause and origin of the fire, Wayside fire officials said. Crews operated at the scene for about two hours.

“Great work by all companies who operated,” Wanamassa fire officials said.
