TINTON FALLS, NJ - A police standoff that blocked the Route 66 ramp in Tinton Falls was peacefully resolved Friday, authorities said.

The incident was first reported in a New Jersey Department of Transportation 511 traffic alert around noon.

The standoff ensued due to a “situation that involved a person in crisis,” a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office told Patch.

The situation came to a peaceful resolution without any injuries, the spokesperson added. One subject was placed in police custody.

The Asbury Park Press reported that a man was identified as the individual taken into custody at around 12:35 p.m. He emerged from a “newer” Chevrolet Corvette, the outlet added.
