Montclair State University Raises Tuition, Fees
Many students were hoping for a tuition freeze.

Montclair State University voted Thursday to hike tuition and fees by 3.9 percent for the upcoming school year, according to NorthJersey.com.
About 20 students—hoping for a tuition freeze—were on hand at a meeting of the school's trustees to protest the increase.

Tuition and fees for full-time students will rise by $411 for the 2012-13 school year to $11,058, according to the university. Room and board will climb by 3.2 percent.
However, tuition for the summer session in 2013 will actually go down by 13.5 percent from $407 to $352 per credit.
