North Jersey ‘Women Of Influence’ Earn Awards From YWCA

The YWCA Northern New Jersey's annual TWIN event gives local businesses and groups a chance to celebrate their highest-achieving women.

NEW JERSEY — Eleven Garden State women were recently honored by YWCA Northern New Jersey at the nonprofit’s 46th annual Tribute to Women of Influence (TWIN).

Established in 1975, the TWIN event gives local businesses and organizations in North Jersey a chance to honor their highest-achieving women – and celebrate their accomplishments. This year’s celebration took place in Florham Park on Dec. 10.

  • Dr. Avonia Richardson-Miller, EdD, Senior VP. Chief Diversity Officer, Hackensack Meridian Health
  • Jennifer D’Angelo, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President of Healthcare, New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII)
  • Sarah Rosen, Managing Director@NJPAC
  • Patrice Lenowitz, Director of Community Partnerships, Solar Landscape
  • LTC Sarah B. Bernal, US Army Reserves
  • Carolyn Jandoli, Executive Director, Global End User Services. Merck & Co.

New this year, Women to Watch, a new level of recognition, was added to highlight inspiring female leaders making considerable contributions within their industries. The 2024 Women to Watch are:

  • Karimah A. Hagans, Esq., Executive Director, Turning Point Community Services
  • Vanessa Freeman, Anchor PIX11
  • Michele Wispelwey, CEO and Founder, FemGevity
  • Sharon Content, Founder and President, Children of Promise, NYC (CPNYC)
  • RoseMary Klie, Marketing Manager, New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII)

“This year’s honorees inspire us with their remarkable stories of leadership and impact,” said YWCA Northern New Jersey CEO Helen Archontou.

“As women continue to face barriers to advancement—such as bias in hiring and promotion, pay disparities, and disproportionate caretaking responsibilities—we hope this event highlights what’s possible when we prioritize equity in the workplace,” Archontou said.
