On Tuesday, the new Township Council will hold its first public regularly scheduled meeting. On the agenda is a resolution establishing a fiscal policy regarding municipal debt. You can also bet there will be a few puzzled homeowners on hand, asking questions about the recent tax bill. Be sure to look for coverage of the council meeting on Montclair Patch early Wednesday. On Wednesday, Van Vleck continues its summertime adult education classes with Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a centuries-old internal Chinese martial art practiced in a meditative, slow, gentle, and graceful sequence of movements that enhances health, relaxation, and self-cultivation. It is practiced by millions worldwide. Tai Chi may be adapted to suit nearly anyone, regardless of physical challenges or abilites. The next session starts Wednesday through August 15. On Thursday, the Church Street Summer Music Festival, sponsored by Tapastry Restaurant, proudly presents WOODY LISSAUER outdoors on the corner of Church Street and Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, go here.
On Saturday, the Friends of the Montclair Township Animal Shelter (FOMTAS) will host a fun, family-friendly summer celebration to raise awareness of the Shelter and much needed additional funding.
