MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A Burlington County college has rescinded a tuition reduction agreement with Thomas Jefferson University just two months after the partnership was announced.

Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC) and Philadelphia's Thomas Jefferson University announced the agreement in September. The partnership made RCBC faculty, staff and Board of Trustees members — plus their immediate families and RCBC alumni — eligible for discounted tuition at select Jefferson programs.

But RCBC's Board of Trustees has formally rescinded the tuition agreement, the community college announced Tuesday.

"The board’s action followed an internal review confirming that the agreement had been executed without board authorization and conflicted with provisions contained in RCBC’s longstanding, contractually defined partnership with Rowan University," said a news release from the college.

RCBC has a tuition reduction agreement with Rowan University in Glassboro.

Jefferson has removed the RCBC partnership webpage from its website. A university spokesperson didn't immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.

RCBC's main facilities are in Mount Laurel, with other campuses in Mount Holly.
