BORDENTOWN, NJ - After five decades of serving pizza by the slice along Route 130, a beloved Burlington County pizzeria is closing its doors for good.
In a Facebook post, Rosario’s Pizza announced earlier this month that it will be closing permanently on Wednesday, April 19 following the death of its owner, Salvatore Ruggeri.
“After 50 years of serving the Bordentown community, Rosario’s Pizza will be closing its doors,” the storefront said in a statement posted to Facebook. “We want to thank you all for your patronage and love and support through the years. Sal’s legacy will always be remembered and this community was an integral part of our family and we appreciate all of you.”

The storefront was eulogized in several comments posted underneath the statement, with many locals reminiscing on the late nights and good times they had at Rosario’s since 1972.
“Thank you for the memories. Use[d] to eat there growing up and all thru high-school and years after till we moved away,” one user posted to Facebook.
