To the Editor:

I met Melissa Arcaro Burns 15 years ago upon my move to Moorestown when she was my personal attorney. At the time she was representing me to help ensure my daughter could attend school in our exceptional district.

Melissa navigated me through this process with professionalism and compassion. Fifteen years later, my daughter graduated from Moorestown High School and went on to graduate from TCNJ. Melissa had a direct hand in the trajectory of my daughter’s education and accomplishments, and for that I am forever grateful.

Luckily Melissa and I reconnected years later during our sons’ baseball game. I learned then that Melissa doesn’t just simply reside in Moorestown, but she is an active and engaged member of this community, and has been from Day One. Her volunteerism has and will continue to benefit our schools and our community.

Melissa understands that there are multiple perspectives and complexities that govern our schools and community. I know that she will advocate for what is in our collective best interest. I trust her instincts and insights, her knowledge of the law, and her understanding of the enormous responsibility of holding public office.

Melissa has been unwavering in her advocacy for our children, and has remained consistent and focused through the most difficult and trying of times. She will continue to advocate for equity and inclusion of every student.

The incomparable education that Moorestown provides comes with a huge responsibility for every member of our BOE, and Melissa is not just up for the task, but is aptly prepared. I once put my faith and trust, and quite literally the fate of my daughter’s future, in Melissa’s hands and am now asking you to do the same.
