Camden Drug Sweep Nets 64 Arrests, Including Moorestown Man

A Moorestown man was among nearly four dozen alleged drug buyers arrested in a drug sting targeting primarily suburban buyers trying to purchase heroin, cocaine or crack cocaine in North Camden, as well as 19 alleged dealers, Camden County Police said.

Daniel Kostek, 20, of Moorestown, was one of 26 people arrested Friday in North Camden, in the second of two operations last week, police said. Also arrested in the same operation was Christopher Gorgodian, 31, of Maple Shade.

Nineteen people were also arrested in a sweep last Wednesday, police said, including Joshua Lanigen, 31, of Maple Shade.

In all, 36 of the 45 arrests in the two days were from outside Camden, both from the immediate New Jersey suburbs, as well as Philadelphia. Police charged all 45 arrested in the two sweeps with loitering to commit a controlled dangerous substance offense, which carries the potential of a six-month jail sentence and a fine of up to $1,000.

Police also went after 19 alleged dealers, making arrests in North Camden, Whitman Park and other areas of the city, charging them all with drug possession with the intent to distribute, in several cases either within 1,000 feet of a school or 500 feet of a park or public housing facility.
