Crashes Cause Massive Delays On I-295 In Burlington County

Both sides reported significant backups during the Friday morning commute.

Update, 9:24 a.m. Friday: The crash on I-295 southbound at Exit 36 in Mount Laurel is no longer causing backups, officials said. But the right shoulder remains closed, and drivers should use caution.

Update, 9:17 a.m. Friday: All southbound lanes reopened, but NJDOT is still reporting delays of 15 to 20 minutes in that direction because of the earlier crash.


MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Crashes on Interstate 295 have induced significant backups Friday morning in Mount Laurel, officials said.

One crash, reported just before 8 a.m., occurred at Exit 36 to Route 73, according to the NJ Department of Transportation. The right lane and shoulder are closed. NJDOT reports delays of 15 to 20 minutes as of this writing.

Meanwhile, another collision was reported at 8:48 a.m. down the roadway on I-295 north — north of Exit 34 to Route 70 in Mount Laurel. Expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes, NJDOT said.
