Free Comic Book Day 2023: These Burlington County Shops Will Celebrate

One of the most anticipated annual events in the comic book industry is returning to participating stores across the nation.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Free Comic Book Day will return Saturday to shops across the nation, including several in Burlington County.

Each year on the first Saturday in May, the industry assembles to give away free comics. The special day is designed to "encourage both curious, first-time comic book readers and seasoned comic book fans to flock to the best place in the comic book community: local comic shops," according to the unofficial holiday's website.

The following Burlington County stores will participate:

  • Ron's Comic World (1690 Route 38, Mount Holly)
  • Collector's Corner - Double Play (1702 Mt. Holly Rd., Burlington)

Other shops marking the occasion include Secret Origins Comics & More (Collingswood), Fat Jack's Comicrypt (Oaklyn) and Comic Relief (Lawrenceville).

Some participating stores will hold special events. Secret Origins will celebrate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with giveaways, a meet-and-greet with local creators and artists, and the chance to see live sketches. The shop also promises door prizes throughout the day, including rare comics and collectibles.
