Mural Inspired by Children's Literature to be Dedicated
A special ceremony will be held at Roberts Elementary School Wednesday.
The at will finally have its moment in the spotlight next week.
A crowd of students, teachers, administrators and local dignitaries will gather at the school Wednesday night for a ceremony to dedicate the 270-square-foot mural inspired by children’s literature.
“It’s such a glorious thing, and I realized, not many people know it’s here,” said Irene Mosesson, school nurse and organizer of the event.
She said the dedication will be held in the all-purpose room, with remarks from Superintendent John Bach and three former Roberts (now ) students who will speak about their experiences at the library, as well as artist Sarah Cannavo, parent of two Roberts students who logged about 100 pro bono hours working on the mural.
The ceremony will be followed by snacks, refreshments and music in the cafeteria.
The event is not open to the public. All Roberts parents and students have been invited. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m.
