New Dates Set For Moorestown Theater Company's 'Matilda, Jr.'

MOORESTOWN, NJ — After getting in just one performance of "Matilda, Jr." last week due to inclement weather, the Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) has released an updated schedule for the show.

This weekend’s schedule is as follows:

• Friday, May 7, 6 p.m. (‘Gold’ Cast)
• Saturday, May 8, 2 p.m. (‘Black’ Cast)
• Saturday, May 8, 6 p.m. (‘Gold’ Cast)
• Sunday, May 9 (Mother’s Day), 2 p.m. (for any performances that may have to be postponed from earlier in the weekend).

All performances are at MTC’s Outdoor Theater behind Bayada Home Health Care at 1 West Main Street. Tickets are available at MoorestownTheaterCompany.org or at the door, and all audience members must wear a mask.

MTC is planning 10 shows between now and August, and it begins with a show Morgan said has had the "longest rehearsal process in MTC history."

The show was supposed to be performed in December, but was ultimately postponed until the spring. By the time the final performance finishes this weekend, it will have been nine months from first performance to final bow for the show based on Roald Dahl's story of Matilda Wormwood, a gifted girl forced to put up with a crude, distant father and mother.
