MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown recently began work to replace a century-old water main under Main Street. Here's how the project will impact traffic next week.

From Monday through Friday next week, crews will be working between Lenola Road and Westbrook Drive, the township says.

Closures on Kings Highway for westbound traffic will continue. Drivers are encouraged to take the the Pleasant Valley Avenue detour leading to E. Camden Avenue. From there, drivers can turn left onto S. Lenola Road.

There will be a hard lane closure beginning at Westbrook Drive with a detour leading to S. Lenola Road. Only local traffic should take this route, the township says.

Kings Highway eastbound may have intermittent closures but should remain largely unaffected, officials said.

The century-old concrete water main runs the length of Main Street. Work to replace it is expected to impact traffic throughout the calendar year.

The project also involves the removal of buried trolley tracks, which have contributed to the road's premature aging.
