Police: Handgun Stolen from Home

Also, police say a Camden woman driving under the influence crashed her car with her 9-year-old son inside.

June 1

Theft from vehicle, 8:15 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Someone stole electronics, a laptop computer and cash—worth a combined $1,175—from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Briggs Road, police said.

Burglary (Laurel Creek), 4:45-11:30 p.m. — Police said someone stole approximately $3,900 worth of jewelry from a Teddington Way residence after slipping into the home through an unlocked window.

June 2

Arrest (fugitive), 1:19 a.m. — Police arrested Malcolm T. Franklin, 22, of the unit block of Brittany Boulevard, Marlton, after he was stopped for motor vehicle violations on Fellowship Road. Upon further investigation, police discovered he was wanted by the West Chester County District Attorney’s Office for conspiracy, forgery and theft-related offenses, according to a report. He was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Arrest (DWI), 1:36 a.m. — Police arrested Michael A. Mixell, 41, of the 100 block of Winding Hills Drive, Etters, PA, after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in the parking lot of Miller’s Ale House on Fellowship Road, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (hindering), 8:28 p.m. — Police arrested Vaughn M. Cosby Jr., 26, of the unit block of Oakland Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ, after he gave police false information to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant during a motor vehicle stop on Route 73, according to a report. Cosby was charged with hindering and committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.  

Arrest (DWI), 11:26 p.m. — Police arrested Aracelis Zambrana, 33, of the 1200 block of Decatur Street, Camden, after she crashed her vehicle on the 1000 block of Route 73, while her young son was a passenger, according to a report. Zambrana and her 9-year-old son were transported to Virtua Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto and endangering the welfare of a minor, police said, and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary (Hunters Crossing), 6:30-11:56 p.m. — Police said $3,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a home on the 200 block of Roberts Lane after a burglar broke in by forcing open a window.

June 3

Arrest (DWI), 4:05 a.m. — Police arrested DeWayne R. Everett, 24, of the 500 block of Garden Street, Mount Holly, after patrols responded to a disabled vehicle on Interstate 295 near Route 38, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Theft from vehicles — Several Rancocas Point development residents reported various items—including keys, sporting tickets and checks, all worth a total of about $1,000—were stolen from their vehicles between 4 p.m. June 2 and 2 p.m. June 3. There was no sign of forced entry to any of the vehicles involved, police said.

Arrest (receiving stolen property), 10:06 a.m. — Police arrested Tamika R. Peyton, 36, of the 1600 block of Liberty Street, Trenton, for driving a stolen vehicle, according to a report. Peyton was charged with receiving stolen property, as well as possession of marijuana (under 50 grams). She was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.  

Theft, 1:30-2 p.m. — Someone stole a wallet and its contents, valued at approximately $170, from a customer at Bertucci’s on Nixon Drive, police said.
   
Theft, noon-2:50 p.m. — An unattended bicycle was stolen from the area of Church Road and Preamble Drive, police said. The bicycle is valued at approximately $150.

Arrest (DWI, resisting arrest), 6:27 p.m. — Police arrested Anthony J. Coia, 41, of the 500 block of Mulberry Cove, Mount Laurel, after he was stopped on Mulberry Cove. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as resisting arrest, police said. Coia was released pending a municipal court hearing.

June 4

Stolen vehicle (Countryside), 1:30-8 a.m. — Someone stole a $12,000 2007 Kawasaki ZX1000D motorcycle from the 100 block of Glenbrook Boulevard while it was parked outside the residence, police said.

Theft — A cast-iron lion’s head was stolen off a column at the end of a driveway on the 200 block of Cemetery Road sometime between 6 p.m. May 31 and 6 p.m. June 4, police said. The decoration is worth approximately $400.

June 5

Burglary (Larchmont) — Police said a handgun and ammunition, valued at approximately $1,000, were stolen from a residence on the 100 block of Carleton Lane sometime between 11 p.m. June 4 and 1 p.m. June 5. The burglar forced their way into the home through a rear window, according to a report.
