Police: Machete- and Gun-Wielding Man Robs Goodwill
Maple Shade Police are looking for the suspect, who robbed the store Wednesday night.
A man wearing a ski mask robbed the Maple Shade Goodwill armed with a machete and a handgun Wednesday night, according to police.
The suspect broke into the building—at 2835 Route 73 South—through a window just after it had closed for the day. Wielding a machete in one hand and a black handgun in the other, he ordered three female employees, who were finishing their end-of-shift duties, into a corner of the office and stole an unknown amount of money from the day’s receipts, Maple Shade Police said.
He then fled on foot into a wooded area in back of the building. Maple Shade Police conducted a search of the area with assistance from a K-9 officer from Cinnaminson Police, but were unable to locate the suspect.
None of the employees were injured, police said.
The suspect is described as a man of unknown race, approximately 5'8" to 5'10", medium build, wearing a red baseball cap with unknown white logo, black ski mask, white gloves, red hooded sweatshirt with unknown white lettering across the chest, black shirt underneath, with red nylon sweatpants with black and white stripes along the length of the legs.
