Police: Thief Nets $10K in Merchandise from Unlocked Gym Lockers

Also, Mount Laurel Police arrest two fugitives from Texas on a number of charges.

May 5

Theft — Police said someone stole $200 worth of medication from the Mount Laurel Center on the 3700 block of Church Road sometime between 11 p.m. May 4 and 10 a.m. May 5.

May 10

Arrest (DWI), 5:02 a.m. — Police arrested Jazmyn N. Lyles, 28, of the 100 block of Broad Street, Mount Holly, during an investigation into a single vehicle collision at Union Mill Road and Briggs Road, according to a report. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Arrest (resisting arrest), 5:46 p.m. — Police arrested Michael M. Cozzoli, 25, of the 4700 block of Dunbarton Road, Mount Laurel, while investigating a suspected intoxicated person causing a disturbance at the Burlington County College Library, 500 College Circle, according to a report. Officers located and arrested Cozzoli for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. No injuries were reported. Cozzoli was served with criminal complaints and released pending a municipal court hearing.  

May 12

Theft from vehicle (Rancocas Point) — Someone stole a license plate, valued at $5, from a vehicle parked on the unit block of Crows Nest Court sometime between 4 p.m. May 11 and 3 p.m. May 12, police said.

May 13

Burglary (Parkway School), 2:24 a.m. — Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at the Parkway School on Ramblewood Parkway. Responding officers saw at least one male subject fleeing the area. Police said force was used to break into the school, though upon initial inspection, nothing was identified as missing. Damage was estimated at $50.

Arrest (DWI), 4:54 p.m. — Police arrested Joseph H. Tumasz, 54, of the unit block of Southgate Drive, after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on South Church Street, according to a report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

May 14

Arrest (defiant trespass), 10:13 a.m. — Police arrested Christine A. Jones, 46, of the 200 block of South Broad Street, Woodbury, at the TD Bank corporate office on Atrium Way after she refused to leave the building, according to a report. She was charged with defiant trespass and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Burglary (Birchfield), 9-11 a.m. — Someone stole a purse containing $400 in cash from a house on the 100 block of Birchfield Court after entering the home through an unlocked window, police said.

Arrest (shoplifting), 2:05 p.m. — Police arrested Thomas D. Engle, 35, of the 100 block of Raymond Avenue, Sewell, for shoplifting $175 worth of merchandise from Home Depot on Nixon Drive, according to a report. Police also arrested Christopher M. Crevar, 29, of the unit block of Bentley Drive, Sewell, during the investigation. Crevar accompanied Engle to the store and was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Both Engle and Crevar were lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail each.

May 15

Theft (Rancocas Woods), 2:30-9 a.m. — A resident of the 300 block of Timberline Drive told police a trailer, valued at $600, was stolen from the area around his residence.

Multiple thefts from unlocked vehicles (Laurel Knoll, Rolling Glen, Rancocas Woods) — Police said someone stole $1,540 worth of cash, electronics and other property from unlocked vehicles in the Laurel Knoll, Rolling Glen and Rancocas Woods developments. The thefts occurred between 9 p.m. May 14 and 7 a.m. May 15.

Theft — Someone stole township-owned agricultural equipment, valued at $500, from the 200 block of Mount Laurel Road sometime between May 7 and 15, police said.

Burglary — Police said $2,400 worth of jewelry was stolen from a residence on the 1100 block of Union Mill Road between 4 p.m. May 14 and 1 p.m. May 15. The burglar broke a window to get into the house, police said.

May 16

Stolen vehicle, 9:25 a.m. to 7:31 p.m. — A 1993 Ford Ranger, valued at $500, was stolen from the TD Bank parking lot on Atrium Way, police said.

Arrest (false government documents) — Police arrested Lola A. Stanton, 32, of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Michael S. Mitchell, 35, of Leonia, NJ, subsequent to a disturbance investigation at the Westin Hotel on Route 73 on charges of hindering, fugitive warrants out of Texas, and false government documents, according to a report. Stanton was also charged with child abandonment and neglect, police said. She was committed to the Burlington County Minimum Security Facility in lieu of $52,500 bail and Mitchell was committed to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $55,800 bail and outstanding warrants.  

May 17

Stolen vehicle, 10-11:35 a.m. — Police said a 2002 Ford Ranger, worth $8,000, was stolen from the 17000 block of Horizon Way.

Criminal mischief — A resident of the 300 block of  Hartford Road told police someone damaged four solar lawn lights on their property, causing $100 in damage, sometime between 8 p.m. May 16 and 11 a.m. May 17.
 
Identity theft (Laurel Creek) — Police said an unidentified person filed a false federal tax return and received a refund of an undetermined amount using the personal identification information of a Sandhurst Drive resident.

Theft by deception — A Beverly City resident received a check, later determined to be fraudulent, and mailed a personal check in return for $4,100 to an overseas address, police said. The transactions occurred through the TD Bank on Ark Road.  

Theft, 5-7:15 p.m. — Police said someone stole approximately $10,500 of jewelry, electronics and other property from unlocked lockers at LA Fitness on Dearborne Circle.

Arrest (DWI), 10:42 p.m. — Police arrested Eileen J. Dycus, 43, of the unit block of Brynnes Court, Lumberton, after she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Briggs Road. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.
