MOORESTOWN, NJ — Susan Lavine Coleman writes that Quinton Law has listened to, and acted on, a range of opinions during his time as a councilman. Her letter to the editor can be found below.

To the editor:

I think we can all agree that we don’t want our much loved Moorestown to become divided nor make any of our neighbors feel excluded. It should be a point of pride that Moorestonians can disagree but still find common ground and move forward together, as a community.

Nationally, the past few years have shown us how our country can be torn apart and weakened by division. Fortunately, here in Moorestown, our leaders have taken a different path. Leaders like Councilman Quinton Law have shown us that keeping an open mind and listening to the full range of opinions can solve problems and enrich our community.

In his role on Town Council, Quinton has reached out and listened to thousands of residents about everything from fallen trees and garbage pick-up to creating new business opportunities on Main Street. He approaches every conversation as a chance to learn and serve Moorestonians more effectively.

And it’s not just all talk. Quinton has also made it much easier for us to engage with Town Council and vice versa. After members of our community spoke out about feeling excluded and unheard, Quinton joined the ‘Moorestown Better Together’ task force’ to create a more informed, innovative, and inclusive Moorestown.

The task force has pioneered an ambitious community engagement effort that is currently surveying Moorestonians in order to make sure that every voice is heard and opinion considered—exactly what I think is necessary to unite our community and ensure a positive path forward.

Since joining Town Council, Quinton Law has demonstrated a commitment to listening and representing everyone, even those who don’t agree with him on one issue or another. And I appreciate that.
