A close friend of Billie Danielle Thomas writes that she is excited for the Moorestown resident's school board candidacy.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown resident Ann-Linn Glaser writes that Board of Education candidate Billie Danielle Thomas will fight for children who have experienced subtle and outright unequal treatment during their time in Moorestown schools. Her letter to the editor can be found below.
To the Editor:
My family has had the privilege of counting Billie Danielle Thomas as a close friend for a little over 7 years. While her professional experience makes her an ideal candidate, I believe that her compassion, integrity, and character make her someone all Moorestonians would feel proud to have serving our schools and our children on the Board of Education.

My husband had the distinct pleasure of working with Billie at the NJ Department of Education for several years. He was always in awe of her professionalism and get it done attitude. Her competence and positivity led to a friendship that has continued to this day, even after my husband’s retirement.
Billie’s work with our state’s migrant and displaced student population, and her caring attitude made her so effective that she was promoted into a more senior position outside of the DOE.

When we heard that Billie was running for the Board of Education, we felt so fortunate that she might use her skills and compassion for our township. Billie has devoted her life to advocating for all children, regardless of race, religion and gender identity; and providing a safe, nurturing environment for them.
This is something our schools have not always done well. It is time that we have a leader to advocate for children like mine, as well as countless others, who have experienced subtle and outright unequal treatment during their time in Moorestown schools.
I urge all Moorestonians to vote for Billie Danielle Thomas for Board of Education. She is the right person to help our schools and our children reach their full potential.
