I-80 Detour, Route 15 Lane Closure Expected Friday In Morris County

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Commuters can expect lane and ramp closures on Route 15 along with a detour on Interstate 80 East on Friday for bridge deck repairs in Morris County, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

The right lane on Route 15 South and the acceleration lane from the North Main Street ramp to Route 15 Southbound will close beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday.

At least one lane on Route 15 South, along with the on and off ramps at North Main Street and the Route 15 South exit to I-80 West will remain open.

Additionally, the North Main Street ramp to Route 15 North is scheduled to close and detour at

the same time, requiring a detour on I-80 East at Exit 34.

"The closures are necessary to make concrete repairs on the Route 15 southbound Bridge over the North Main Street ramp to Route 15 northbound," according to the NJDOT.

The following detours will be in place:

North Main Street to Route 15 northbound Detour:

• Motorists wishing to take North Main Street/CR 634 to Route 15 northbound will be directed to take East Dewey Avenue/CR 642 eastbound
• Turn left onto Route 15 northbound

I-80 eastbound Exit 34 Detour – Friday night only:

• Motorists on I-80 eastbound will be directed to take Exit 34 to Route 15/Wharton/Dover/Sparta
• Turn left following signs for Wharton
• Turn left onto East Dewey Avenue/CR 642 eastbound
• Turn left onto Route 15 northbound
• Stay right to take the ramp to I-80 eastbound
