Meet First Responders At National Night Out In Morris Township

The annual National Night Out celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in Morris Township and Morris Plains.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — The annual National Night Out community event is planned for the first Tuesday in August in both Morris Township and Morris Plains, police announced.

There will be an ice cream truck on hand, as well as the opportunity to meet some of the many fine police officers, firefighters, minutemen, and Office of Emergency Management personnel who serve in Morris Township.

Admission is free, and it will be held at Fanok Road in Morris Township on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Morris Plains' National Night Out is also planned for the same date and time and will be held at Morris Plains Community Park.

Attendees will be able to enjoy bounce houses, touch-a-truck activities, a dunk tank, free giveaways and free food. Residents can also meet and interact with Morris Plains Police Department officers.

National Night Out is an event that aims to improve relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while also restoring a true sense of community. It is intended to provide an opportunity for police and neighbors to work together in a positive setting.

The initiative, which began in 1984, promotes crime prevention activities, community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
